Terms of Service

1. Service Description

KOṠA ("the Service") is a personal finance tracking and management tool provided by VN Tech Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). The Service allows users to import, categorize, and analyze personal financial transactions.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older.

3. Financial Disclaimer

KOṠA is a tracking and organizational tool only. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Transaction categorization is automated and may be incorrect. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

4. Trial Period & Subscription

• Free trial period: 120 days from signup (subject to change per system parameters)
• After trial expiry, a paid subscription is required to maintain access
• A 30-day grace period follows trial expiry before data deletion
• Subscription pricing is displayed at the time of conversion

5. Data Deletion

• You may delete all your data at any time from Settings → Data & Privacy
• Upon trial expiry without subscription, all data is deleted after the grace period
• Login credentials are deleted simultaneously with financial data at end of grace period
• Deleted data cannot be recovered

6. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to store data belonging to other persons without their consent, attempt to access other users' data, or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Limitation of Liability

VN Tech Inc. is not liable for any financial decisions made based on information displayed in the Service, for data loss due to user-initiated deletion, or for service interruptions.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States.

Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

• Account data: Email address, name, password (hashed)
• Financial data: Transaction descriptions, amounts, dates, categories imported from your bank statements
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used (no third-party analytics)

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Original bank statement files (parsed then discarded — only transaction data is stored)
• Bank login credentials (we never ask for them)
• Social security numbers or government ID numbers

3. How We Store Your Data

Data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) on AWS us-east-1 servers in the United States. Row-level security ensures only you can access your data. SHA-256 hashes are retained for duplicate detection only.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. We do not use your data for advertising. Infrastructure providers (Supabase, Render) have access to encrypted data per their own privacy policies.

5. Your Rights

• Right to access: Download your data from Settings at any time
• Right to deletion: Delete all data immediately from Settings → Data & Privacy
• Right to correction: Edit any data within the app

6. California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell data). Contact [email protected] to exercise these rights.

7. India Residents (DPDP Act 2023)

Indian residents have rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. Data Fiduciary contact: [email protected]. Data is currently stored on US servers; Indian data residency compliance is in progress.

Data Retention & Deletion Policy

Trial Period

Your trial begins on the date of signup and lasts 120 days. During this period you have full access to all features.

After Trial Expiry

• Day 0: Trial begins
• Day 113: Warning email sent (7 days before expiry)
• Day 120: Access blocked. Subscribe or request deletion.
• Days 121–150: Grace period. Data preserved but inaccessible.
• Day 150: All data AND login credentials permanently deleted.

What Gets Deleted

• All accounts, transactions, budgets, subscriptions
• All vault documents and passwords
• All action items and dashboard cards
• Your login credentials and profile

What Is NOT Deleted

• Nothing — deletion is complete and permanent

Voluntary Deletion

You may delete all your data at any time from Settings → Data & Privacy. This action is immediate and irreversible. A "Kill Switch" feature is available to practice data deletion during demo mode.

Demo Data

If you chose demo data at signup, that data is pre-seeded fictional content for illustration only. It does not represent any real person, account, or financial institution. Demo data is deleted when you convert to your own data or at trial expiry.
